Mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, turkey, stuffing, crescent rolls, and pie are all delectable and mouthwatering foods that we all crave into on the last Thursday of each November. However, there is one that stands out among the rest. Of all the thanksgiving food, it is easy to say that the turkey is simply the best. You don’t see little children in elementary school drawing mashed potatoes or ears of corns during this holiday. Rather, the beloved and adored turkey.
The turkey is a work of art. The turkey that is
presented on Thanksgiving Day was first chosen wisely among many at a local
grocery store. Later, the turkey is showered with spices and herbs to
complement the savory taste of the turkey. After cooking for several hours in a
perfectly heated oven, the turkey is ready to be taken out. All of the eyes
gathered around the table wait for this very moment. Not for the mashed
potatoes or crescent rolls to be taken out but rather the turkey. As light
reflects off the turkey as it is taken out of the oven, mouths drool and hearts
expand as family and friends wait impatiently to devour this heavenly and scrumptious
bird.
It is simple to see
why the turkey is the best food at a Thanksgiving gathering. The turkey is a
symbol of this holiday and a divine treat when it reaches the mouths of those
who celebrate this day. Thanksgiving is full of many different kinds of
delicious food from green beans to apple pie but there is no food that comes
close to the overall satisfaction of turkey. It’s called turkey day for a
reason, right?
